Cleaning Job

I got a job!!!

The other day I went online to look at any jobs that I might apply to. I found one that looked promising enough. The other good thing was that I could just call them and talk to them about the job. I called Gitte and (in my broken Dan-glish) I asked about the job. She said that she only had a job for 5 hours a week (in my area) and said that I could send her my info over email so that she could send me more info on the job.

So I sent my info and after a little while she told me a little more about the job. Overall I found out that it's 3 hours on Tuesday and 2 hours on Thursday. I will be cleaning 3 different offices in Randers (and a little on my time schedule). She also said that Simon (the cleaning leader) would call me when he would pick me up for work on Tuesday to see if I want the job still.

It was a little embarrassing yesterday when work-Simon (we'll call him that so you don't think that it's my hubby) called yesterday for the first time. He spoke Danish so fast and I could not understand him at all. I asked him to speak english and at first I still didn't understand. By the end of the call I could understand what he was saying. I think was just sooo nervous that it influenced my hearing/understanding capabilities.

He called when he was like 5 minutes away from my house. I went downstairs to wait and it took only 2 minutes until he was there. I wasn't sure if it was him because I had no idea what he looked like and what type of car he drove. Luckily he rolled down his window asked if it was me and I asked if it was Simon. SO yeah, then we were on our way to our first cleaning place.

It was just a small little office with a little kitchen and bathroom. It was so easy to clean. It was nothing like cleaning in the Kindergarten (which was HARD work). It was funny when work-Simon told the office owner that I would be working there and said that it was good and that I was nice to look at (it's hard to translate it). Woohoo! :P (Don't worry this was an older guy who said this...).

So we drove a little bit and we talked about how Simon and I met and our marriage and things on the way to the next office. This place was also easy to clean. It was just one office and a few restrooms. It was easy as well. We finished and started on our way to our next and last office.

On the way I kicked myself for not having a pass-a-long card in my purse. We talked a little about the church but not too much (pretty much that I believe in God who is the same always (prophets) and how we are not like Jehovah's Witnesses. He said he didn't know what he believed in but that he wanted to figure out what he believed before going to church. (something like that). Anyway, I'll bring a pass-a-long card this next Thursday when I go again.

The last office was 3 times as big as the other ones. They had more rooms (but not too many). I think this last one will be the hardest to clean.

I'm excited for my new job. I'm happy that it's only 5hrs so it's not too much in starting out.
